Even though Serena Williams has publicly denied the idea of a comeback at age 44, speculation continues to grow. Observers and fans alike still dream of seeing her return to the circuit and compete against the best players of the moment.

"I keep telling her to come back"

This is the case, for example, of the legendary Lewis Hamilton, seven-time Formula 1 world champion, who expressed his wish to see Serena Williams back in official competition in remarks relayed by Tennis365:

"I would love (to see her back). I keep telling her to come back. I am a very, very big supporter of hers. She is the greatest player of all time, a true legend. She attended one of the recent Grand Prix. She is also a close friend, and I am truly honored by that."

Corrections:
At best she could be considered one of the best women players, not the best overall "player", meaning both sexes.
While Serena has more GS than Graf (by one), it is Graf that has many other coveted records and better overall career stats. As far as making the comedic leap that Serena is the best player, not the best "woman" player:
See stats again. If you are basing it on # of Grand Slams, Novak Djokovic has 24, Serena has 23. How convenient it is to believe Serena should be compared with the men without matching Novak's number of GSs or ever once having to play a man to prove it.

Hello I'm new

1j

I am surprised about relatively low attendance at Roland Garros which was the most popular slam 20+ years ago. I myself love it as well as really loving aus and us opens. I don't care about Wimbledon, sometimes maybe I can watch women's tennis. I hate Wimbledon's white dress code, I feel like I am watching junior tennis...I watched very few matches like Graf davenport final in 1999 the last time.....

It will really be befitting if he attains his 25th Grand Slam crown at the AO for he's truly the GOAT & this will stamp him & endorse his GOAT status without an iota of doubt

Almost as important to Djokovic as Slam #25--and requiring less luck--is beating Federer's total of 103 singles titles. He'll play 250s, and might even surpass Connors's 109.
