I kind of created this negative climate myself," Musetti reflects on his Asian tour
Lorenzo Musetti concluded his Asian tour in the round of 16 against Felix Auger-Aliassime in Shanghai and leaves with an overall unsatisfactory record for himself.
It began with another lost final in Chengdu and a quarterfinal defeat in Beijing against Learner Tien by retirement, marked by controversy with the Chinese crowd.
Asked about this after his defeat in Shanghai, Musetti opened up: "I kind of created this negative climate myself. The month in China hasn't been easy; I never felt comfortable after everything that happened.
In the end, it ended up affecting my mentality, even though I had fans by my side who supported me. But this nervousness came from something I already had within me, something that was distracting me from the matches.
I knew I could have done much better here in Shanghai. For me, it's a missed opportunity for the Race, and in terms of results, it won't be easy to digest.
