I was able to get in touch with players I used to watch on television, Vacherot discusses his new daily life

Valentin Vacherot is still on cloud nine. After winning the Shanghai Masters 1000, the Monegasque player has now qualified for the quarter-finals of the Rolex Paris Masters.

In a press conference following his victory against Cameron Norrie, he discussed his progress and the changes in his daily life.

"Well, it's an opportunity for me, I was able to get in touch with players I always used to watch on television, and now I see them in the locker rooms, during warm-ups, during training sessions.

Everything is positive. I love watching them and learning from them. I still have a lot to learn, obviously. Many players congratulated me on my victory in Shanghai.

It's fantastic. But I have so much to learn from them. And the fact that I am now participating in the main tour and learning from everything, it's fantastic.

Before I got injured, I was ranked 110th. I had a lot of points to defend, so I dropped in the rankings. I didn't reach many semi-finals and finals, but I still believe in it today.

What was abnormal was rather being ranked 204th. I knew I could play better. I didn't really think about it. I knew my level was closer to the Top 100, and that I could break into the Top 50 rather than being ranked 200th.
