Indeed, the London tournament still has one wild card available for the singles draw.

'I'd Certainly Be Interested'

Asked about this possibility in Berlin, Serena Williams first seemed surprised to learn that a spot was still available.

'Oh my God, there's still one left? There is? I'd certainly be interested. What do you think?' she replied with a smile.

The latter replied to her: 'I see you training, moving well, doing lateral movement drills. But the important thing is your opinion.'

Her answer once again fueled hope: 'I think I would be interested in that.'

Finally, Serena Williams responded about the possibility of officially requesting this wild card.

'I don't know. I wonder why there's still one… I don't know.'
