"I'm not betting everything on tennis," Kostyuk already reveals her plans for post-career
At 23 years old, Marta Kostyuk is established in the top 30 of the WTA rankings. Despite inconsistent results over the past few years, the Ukrainian has a game based on taking risks, which has sometimes allowed her to beat very good players. In an interview, the Kyiv native was nevertheless asked about her post-career, and she assured that she would no longer play on the tour at the age of 35.
"I don't count on tennis as a definitive career, and all the money I've earned should serve me for my whole life. I really enjoy creating, bringing together nice people, initiatives, working... I love this process and I know that I shouldn't bleed myself dry now to earn as much as possible so that I can then do as little as possible later. I count on the fact that my life will be long.
"I plan to develop in other areas"
It won't stop when I'm 35. I plan to continue working, to develop in other areas, to do many things outside of tennis. I'm not betting everything on tennis. I don't plan to play that long, until I'm 35-40 years old. I don't know when I'll stop, I don't want to give numbers. It's different for everyone: some stop at 25, others at 35, others at 30... It's very personal," she assured for Tribuna.
