This Wednesday, Stefanos Tsitsipas had a harder time than expected. Against Daniel Altmaier, he needed almost 3 hours of play to dispose of a tough opponent (6-3, 6-2, 6-7, 6-4).
Just as he was letting his guard down, against an increasingly enterprising Altmaier, the Greek lost his nerve slightly. The scene was set in the fourth set. After conceding the third set in a tie-break, the world number 9 was struggling to seize his return opportunities.
Clearly very annoyed, he lashed out directly at his father and coach, Apostolos Tsitsipas. Accustomed to tiring out his son's opponents with his incessant remarks, this time it was his own son who came slightly out of his gongs, addressing him with a rather clear remark: "Shut up!"
