Italian tennis legend Pietrangeli on Sinner: "The strongest of them all".

Italian tennis legend Pietrangeli on Sinner: The strongest of them all.

Nicola Pietrangeli, one of the most influential Italian tennis players in history, recently spoke to our transalpine colleagues at Ubitennis.

When asked about the meteoric rise of Jannik Sinner, the undisputed world No.1, the man who twice won the French Open (1959, 1960) enthusiastically declared: "Jannik Sinner is now the strongest of them all, the figures and the level of his tennis say so.

When he feels good, he's unbeatable. Maybe only Carlos Alcaraz can worry him, but I don't see any chance for the others.

Over the next few years, I expect to see the Spaniard duel it out to win the most important tournaments.

The others are a long way from his level, especially now that Djokovic, because of his age, is inevitably declining.

I'd have loved to see Sinner take on the Big 3 (Federer, Nadal, Djokovic) at their very best, we'd have seen some great things, that's for sure."

Carlos Alcaraz
