The 2025 season has been largely marked by the dominance of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, who split the 4 Grand Slams between them. After winning in Stockholm, Casper Ruud wants to rebalance the discussions and challenge the hegemony of the Italian and the Spaniard.
He states: "The schedule is very packed, it's incredibly difficult to go from one tournament to the next without having time to digest what happened. We push our bodies and minds to the limit.
I think that, in my case, taking a break this summer was key. That's what allows me to be in good form now.
Carlos and Jannik may have played more than 70 matches this year, but I think it's harder for the others, because we don't win as many as they do, and bouncing back after a loss every week is a challenge.
Currently, we have two players on the tour who are completely unplayable, but there are about thirty of us fighting to improve and seize opportunities. We have to accept that they operate in another world, forget about them, and simply try to improve to make them more human.
If that's so, then how did players in the past pull of digesting each tournament after it was over? I would like to suggest that today's players put their phones down.
