Affaiblie depuis le début du tournoi par un virus grippal, la Tunisienne avait déjà été malmenée au tour précédent. Elle n'a cette fois-ci rien pu faire face à la puissance de la Chinoise qui affrontera Sabalenka ou Kasatkina en quarts.
