Kasatkina on Nadal and Djokovic: "Djokovic is the greatest".
Daria Kasatkina, ranked 13th in the world, is one of the few players in the top 20 not to have given up on taking part in this week's ATP tournament in Seoul.
As a result, she will be the tournament's number one seed and will be hoping to take advantage of the opportunity to aim for the title.
Interviewed at length on the Russian podcast "TNNS", the 27-year-old discussed the frequent comparisons made between the careers of Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
Declaring her passion for the Spaniard's game, Kasatkina nonetheless acknowledged that the Serb remains the best, at least in terms of record: "From the age of eight, I started watching 'Rafa's' game, from Roland Garros 2005 onwards.
I fell in love with his game, his character, everything. Since that tournament, I've come to love him as a player.
You know that when someone has an idol, they'll love him even if the results aren't up to scratch. And that's obvious in my case, because it started when I was a child.
But, objectively speaking, if you look at the results, Novak Djokovic is the greatest. It would be silly to argue about that.
The rest is a matter of taste."
