Dans la foulée de sa victoire en 3 sets face à Gasquet, dans laquelle il a dû sauver une balle de match, l'Étasunien s'est retiré du tournoi, évoquant une cheville douloureuse. Il devait jouer Lehecka, qui file donc en finale.
