Le Portugais a remporté, à 26 ans, son tout 1er match dans le tableau final du Grand Chelem parisien dimanche. Il s'est imposé au bout du suspens, 11-9 au super tie-break du 5e set, après 3h58 de combat face à Isner sur le Court 13.
