Lopez after Nadal's retirement: "Without injuries, he would have won more Grand Slams than anyone else".

Lopez after Nadal's retirement: Without injuries, he would have won more Grand Slams than anyone else.

Feliciano Lopez, Tournament Director of the Davis Cup Finals, spoke in an interview about Rafael Nadal's recent retirement.

Spain's defeat in the Davis Cup quarter-finals put an end to the Majorcan's career, in front of his home crowd in Málaga.

Lopez, who played alongside Nadal for many years in the Davis Cup, was keen to praise Nadal's achievements during his career, particularly after multiple injuries: "He had an incredible ability to recover from his injuries.

But if you take away all the bad luck he's had, he's had a career with great longevity. In his thirties, he was expected to retire, but at 36 in 2022, he was still winning Grand Slams.

If someone had told me before that, with his chronic foot pain and knee problems, he would have done that, I wouldn't have believed them.

He was even very close to being number 1 in the world. Even with all the suffering he's been through, he's managed it all.

Without the injuries, he would have won more Grand Slams than anyone else."

Notice Lopez didn't bring up how many Grand Slams Novak was kept out of for not taking a vaccine that neither prevented nor kept people from spreading COVID as was originally promised.

Novak was was defending champ and had won AO

9 times!

Never forget!

Hypotheticals are great. They can never be proven.
