Longtemps bousculé et mené 2 sets à 1, le Russe est parvenu à retourner la situation dans le 4e acte pour finalement survoler la 5e manche. En demi-finales, il retrouvera vendredi le vainqueur du duel qui oppose Rune à Alcaraz.
