Nalbandian on the GOAT debate: "There is unanimity, but also different tastes"
For twenty years, the Big 3 dominated tennis head and shoulders above the rest, leaving only crumbs for their opponents. For several years, the debate over the greatest player of all time, also known as the GOAT, has been at the heart of many tennis fans' discussions.
A Wimbledon finalist in 2002, former world number 3 David Nalbandian believes that Novak Djokovic is the greatest player of all time given his sporting achievements. But for him, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are surely more popular than the Serbian.
"Djokovic is the best in terms of results and numbers"
"I think there is unanimity, but also different tastes. Without a doubt, Nole (Djokovic) is the best. In terms of results, numbers, everything. Now, you may prefer Roger (Federer) and Rafa (Nadal), who are ranked a bit lower, but who have much more symbolic importance to people.
For me, Djokovic is the best. You can like him more or less, but for me, there is no doubt. Moreover, Nole helped Roger and Rafa to continue improving and setting goals. Among the three of them, they mutually pushed each other," Nalbandian stated on the Clank podcast.
