No Grand Slam title for Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, for the first time in 22 years
For the first time since 2002, neither Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal nor Novak Djokovic won a Grand Slam tournament this season. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner shared the year's four major titles. The Spaniard won the French Open and Wimbledon, while the Italian won the Australian Open and the US Open.
We are therefore witnessing a real change of tennis era. A change of era barely tempered by the gold medal won by Novak Djokovic at the Paris Olympic Games at the beginning of August.
And while the Serb can still look forward, without sounding unrealistic, to one or more Grand Slam titles next season, he will not be able to halt the inevitable trend that has set in. Even if he can be trusted to put up a fight and try to delay the deadline as long as possible.
