Objectif Masters : Who will be taking part?
The race for the Masters tournament, which brings together the eight best players of the past year, intensifies after the US Open.
Three players have already qualified: Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev.
Behind them, the battle is tight. Daniil Medvedev (4th, 4420 pts), Taylor Fritz (5th, 3890 pts), Casper Ruud (6th, 3795 pts), Andrey Rublev (7th, 3480 pts) and Alex De Minaur (8th, 3305 pts) are currently the players best placed to hope for qualification.
Surprisingly, Novak Djokovic, with 3260 points, is only 9th. He has not yet qualified for the ATP Finals.
This means that the Serb, who has won the tournament seven times, could miss out for the first time since 2017.
Other notable outsiders can also hope to snatch their ticket for the last major tournament of the year.
Players such as Dimitrov (10th, 2835 pts), Paul (11th, 2735 pts) and Tsitsipas (12th, 2735 pts) are still in the running and could spring a surprise.
One thing's for sure, the tension is mounting as we approach the last major event of the year.
