On cloud nine, Musetti pulls back to within a set of Djokovic!
Novak Djokovic and Lorenzo Musetti played a match of absolutely insane proportions. Faced with a much better Djokovic than in his previous matches, the Transalpine produced a string of marvellous winners, particularly on defense, to pull level at one set apiece on a Philippe Chatrier court that was all in favor of his cause (7-5, 6-7).
Having conceded the first set by the skin of his teeth (7-5), the gifted 22-year-old put on an absolutely Dantesque display of tennis (27 winners already), delighting the audience with several flamboyant points. After almost 2h30 of play, and with it just after 1 a.m. in Paris, the two men will have to play at least two more sets.
