Raducanu didn't hesitate to play doubles with Murray: It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity

Emma Raducanu is no ordinary player. After winning the US Open in 2021, the 21-year-old is experiencing a more difficult next stage in her career, which has seen her drop out of the world's top 100 for some time now.

That said, she seems to be gradually finding her feet again, as evidenced by her second-round victory over Elise Mertens on Wednesday (6-1, 6-2).

However, that's not why we're talking about her at the moment, but rather her participation in the mixed doubles. Indeed, we learned earlier today that she will be playing mixed doubles alongside a certain Andy Murray. A dream doubles pairing!

Questioned on the subject, she declared: "It took me 10 seconds to accept. For me, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Some things are more important than tennis. Some things are unique memories that you'll keep for the rest of your life.

Playing at Wimbledon with Andy Murray... These things don't come along very often. At the end of my life, at the end of my career, when I'm 70, I know I'll have that memory of playing at Wimbledon with Andy Murray in our home Grand Slam.

It's priceless. Wimbledon is Andy Murray and Andy Murray is Wimbledon. For me, it was an honor to be asked."
