Roland-Garros 2025: Carballes Baena Withdraws, Royer's Opponent Changes for the First Round
Withdrawals are multiplying in the men's draw of this 2025 edition of the French Open. This Saturday, Emil Ruusuvuori withdrew from the tournament, giving his spot to Federico Agustin Gomez.
But the Finn is not the only player to announce his withdrawal from Roland-Garros. Indeed, Roberto Carballes Baena, ranked 63rd in ATP, is also forced to pull out while he was supposed to face Valentin Royer.
The Frenchman, ranked 120th in the world and invited by the organizers, will finally play against Daniel Elahi Galan. The Colombian, ranked 118th, was defeated in the last round of qualifications by Juan Manuel Cerundolo (6-4, 6-2) but has ultimately been given a place as a lucky loser.
The match is expected to take place this Sunday, May 25, on Court 6 in the afternoon, and will be one of the first matches counting for the first round in the men's draw this year.
