Rune Embraces the Challenge: "I Can Take Down Alcaraz and Sinner"
Still in search of consistency, Holger Rune has no doubts about his potential: he claims he can beat Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner in major matchups.
After winning his first singles match this Saturday in the Davis Cup against Spain (he defeated Pablo Carreno Busta 7-5, 6-3), Rune took the time to give an interview to the media outlet Bola VIP.
Still eager to establish himself as one of the best players in the world, the Dane once again emphasized that he is capable of taking down Sinner and Alcaraz:
"I feel like I lack consistency in my identity as a tennis player. Often, I step onto the court with an offensive mindset, but other times, I come in with the mentality of a fierce fighter. The danger is there.
When I'm able to hit so many different shots on the court, it can also be a bit confusing. I try to keep things as simple as possible.
Of course, it's inspiring to see Carlos and Jannik playing at that level, but I also know that I can beat them."
