Rune gives an update: "My recovery is progressing a bit faster than expected"
Seriously injured in the Achilles tendon, Holger Rune continues his rehabilitation. Quoted by Sports Illustrated, the Dane gave an update on his condition.
He stated: "I am currently in rehabilitation in Doha, Qatar. I am surrounded by great people. My team is also very involved, so everything is going well. It has been exactly seven weeks since I had surgery, and my recovery is progressing a bit faster than expected. That's always a good sign.
"Everything is going well"
We set goals every week. When I arrived, the goal was to walk again. I am already walking without an orthopedic boot, but when I leave the center on December 18th, I will wear normal shoes with a slight heel lift.
So I am slightly elevated to avoid putting too much strain on it – that's precisely what needs to be avoided right now. We work the tendon differently almost every day. There is a rest day for recovery.
But we are working intensively, and I am surrounded by experienced people who have gone through a similar injury, so everything is going well."
