Rune recalls Sinner's medical time-out: "10 minutes in the middle of the set was a bit brutal".
Holger Rune was eliminated this Monday by Jannik Sinner in the last 16 of the Australian Open, but the Dane worried the world No.1 for two sets, as he was suffering from the heat.
At 3-2 in his favor in the third set, Sinner took a medical time-out and left the court for eleven minutes. On his return to the Rod Laver Arena, he seemed to have regained his composure.
A moment about which Rune was asked at his press conference: "There's nothing to worry about if you get checked out, it was a very hot day.
Even though it wasn't sunny all the time, it was very humid and I could feel it too.
It's normal for him to be examined, but I think it took longer than I thought. It lasted about 10 minutes, maybe even longer, which was a bit brutal in the middle of the set.
But I moved on, even though I had good momentum at that point."
