Shanghai Masters 1000 Reveals Wild Cards Including Wawrinka
This Wednesday, the Shanghai Masters 1000, scheduled from October 1st to 12th, announced its list of wild cards.
Four Chinese players will have the privilege of skipping the qualifying rounds: Juncheng Shang, Yibing Wu, Yi Zhou, and Zhizhen Zhang, who has dropped to 370th in the world rankings.
But a notable guest is also present, in the person of Stan Wawrinka. The Swiss player will head to Shanghai after his final at the Rennes Challenger and his semifinal in Saint-Tropez.
His best performance in Shanghai was a quarterfinal appearance in 2013 and 2015, each time defeated by Rafael Nadal.
