Sinner Can Become World Number 1 in Paris After Alcaraz's Fall
Carlos Alcaraz surprised everyone by being eliminated in his opening match at the Rolex Paris Masters by Cameron Norrie on Tuesday evening.
This defeat could have heavy consequences on his status as world number 1. Jannik Sinner, the world number 2, did not participate in the tournament during the previous edition.
This means that no matter his performance, the Italian will gain points on his great rival. Even better, he could reclaim the world number 1 spot if he wins the title this Sunday.
A status he might also not hold for very long afterwards: as the defending champion at the ATP Finals, he will need to hope for an excellent run in Turin and another disappointment for Alcaraz.
