Sinner dominates Medvedev and goes for the title!

Sinner dominates Medvedev and goes for the title!

Jannik Sinner is, more than ever, the absolute favorite to win the title in New York.

In a tournament full of surprises, the world number 1 continues to hold his own with great authority.

Faced with the ever-dangerous Medvedev at the US Open, the Italian did not miss a beat, disposing of the Russian in just over 2h30 (6-2, 1-6, 6-1, 6-4).

In a rather strange match in which the two men never really played well at the same time, it was Sinner who proved the most effective.

Serving very well, maintaining constant pressure on the return and smothering his opponent with dry shots, the Transalpine reached the semi-finals with great authority.

As the only member of the Top 10 still in contention, everything seems to be lining up for the 23-year-old to claim his second Grand Slam title.

To reach the final, he will first have to avoid the Jack Draper trap on Friday.

Looks like Sinner is going to have a cake walk to the trophy since Medvedev didn't show up for 3 sets out of 4. (Yes, I'm predicting Fritz or Tiafoe will choke when the pressure is on in the final.)

Even the 2nd set could have been gone very differently in the outcome, with all the break points that Sinner had and that Medvedev was good enough to cancel. Instead, the first and the third were much more one-sided
