When asked about the qualities of Jack Draper, his opponent in the US Open semi-finals, Jannik was full of praise. The world No.1 explained that the Briton is an ultra-complete player who knows how to play all the tennis strokes very well.
Jannik Sinner: "He serves well, he hits a good forehand and he's very solid on the backhand. He's a very good player in every respect. He does a lot of serve-volleys, he tries to get to the net.
There are a lot of things he does well. It's also because he's in the semi-finals of a Grand Slam tournament. Whoever achieves that kind of result is going to have a tough match.
He also moves very well. All in all, it's going to be a tough match, for both of us anyway. Mentally too.
Semi-finals are a bit different from the first or second round. We'll see who handles it better. I'm really looking forward to it.
I played against him in Queens on grass a few years ago (in the 1st round in 2021, Draper won 7-6, 7-6). It's great to see our process. We're progressing as players and as people. It's a good thing."
