Jannik Sinner will be making her return to competition next week at the Doha tournament.
The Italian, who has only played in one tournament since the start of the 2025 season (at the Australian Open, which he won), boasts impressive statistics: he won 73 matches last year, losing just 6, establishing himself as the true boss of the ATP circuit.
This Monday, February 10, Sinner starts his 36th week at the top of the rankings, equalling the number achieved by his main rival, Carlos Alcaraz, currently 3rd in the ATP rankings.
Alcaraz has also spent 36 weeks at the top of the world tennis rankings since his maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open in September 2022.
Number 1 in the world without interruption since June 10, 2024 and the end of the French Open, Sinner, who became the 29th player since the creation of the ATP rankings to occupy the number 1 position in the world, has already overtaken the likes of Mats Wilander (20 weeks), Daniil Medvedev (16), Andy Roddick (13) and Boris Becker (12).
He now looks set to overtake Ilie Nastase (40), Andy Murray (41) and Gustavo Kuerten (43) in the coming months.
