Sinner: "It's huge to become world number one again"
At La Défense Arena, Jannik Sinner wrote a new page in Italian tennis history. By winning the Paris Masters 1000 against Félix Auger-Aliassime (6-4, 7-6), the 24-year-old prodigy not only claimed the title but also reclaimed the world number one ranking.
In two weeks, Jannik Sinner achieved the double: Vienna–Paris. A performance that puts him back in the world number one position ahead of the Turin Masters.
"It's huge to be back in this position (world number one), it was an intense final, we both knew what was at stake in this match (Félix could have officially qualified for the Masters). As for me, I am extremely happy.
The last two months have been crazy, I tried to improve as a player and it makes me incredibly happy. I am really pleased and we will now see what happens in Turin. I thank the team, because it wouldn't be possible without them."
After this victory, Sinner will have a week of rest before confidently approaching the ATP Finals in Turin, at home.
