Sinner looks back at his doping affair: I've always tried to understand what I did wrong
le 18/11/2024 à 20h04

The case had caused quite a stir in the tennis world. Jannik Sinner, the current world number 1, was cleared after testing positive twice for Clostebol during Indian Wells last March.

However, the official decision was only made public in August, the day after the Italian's triumph in Cincinnati.

In recent hours, after winning the ATP Finals in Turin, Sinner has once again come clean about his doping affair.

He doesn't seem necessarily worried about a possible sanction, having seen the World Anti-Doping Agency appeal his acquittal last September.

Sinner confident about the outcome of his positive Clostebol test

"We've come through it three times successfully, and I'm convinced it will be the same for the fourth time," he assured. "I've always tried to understand what I did wrong or what I could have done better.

I spoke to my team, and we decided to do our best, because we couldn't do any more. My team pushed me a lot, there were days when I wasn't very well, nights when I didn't sleep well.

So you need a good combination of player and team. When I put on my cap, I don't think about what's going on off the court.

I've been lucky enough to have Simone, Darren and a lot of people around me who keep me stable. Thanks to that, we've continued to work every day like there's no tomorrow.

We've also improved over this period," he concluded.

The Italian has just completed an exceptional season with eight titles to his name and 70 victories. He has clearly come to terms with the media coverage of his doping affair.

I propose the following changes to the rules:

1...a walķover will not be a loss. We have no control of player's health. If he or she is entered in a contest we expect them to play.

2...an incomplete match is not a loss. If a player forfeits we pick another match if there are more to choose.

3...this also applies if TT cancels a match. TT will not take hours to decide an outcome.

How about leavin...

It's a shame that so many matches are being canceled. TT ,you are destroying your game ,and thereby killing your app. I don't know how many matches others have had canceled , but I'm at 3 and it's only thursday.

As a long time player and lover of this game , I don't know how much of this I can tolerate. For example I waited hours last night for you to confirm my win and post my points. Every ot...

This week I have used all my formulas and best guesses to try to achieve the high score jimandlori958 set in our last competition. I am two games short because of cancelations and I need all wins to get there.

An impressive win.. Congrats to our winner this week, jimandlori958 and with a score that could not be caught or matched. I don't remember a 56 in a while with our group. Nice to see everyone using the 2 point predictions. Can't win without 'em.
