Sinner on the end of the Big 3 era: "It's good for tennis to have new champions".

Sinner on the end of the Big 3 era: It's good for tennis to have new champions.

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz shared this season's 4 Grand Slam titles. For the first time since 2002, neither Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal nor Roger Federer won a major title this year.

A statistic that seems to confirm the end of the Big 3 era. Sinner gave his thoughts on the subject at a press conference after his victory in the US Open final.

Jannik Sinner:
"Well, it's a bit different, that's for sure. I mean, it's something new, but it's also nice to see.

It's nice to see new champions. It's nice to see new rivalries. I've always had players and I'll always have players who will make me a better player because, you know, there will be times when they beat me.

Then you have to try and find a way to win against certain players. And today we saw that not everything was perfect. I could have served a little better.

But, you know, it makes me realize that the work never stops. You always have to keep working, which means that ultimately, if you want to become a better player, you always have to work and have these daily routines, even in the difficult moments on court.

So it's a good thing for tennis to have new champions."
