Taking stock of this incredible season in an interview with Esquire magazine, the world number 1 was kind enough to confide in us about his relationship with defeat: "I think it's more a case of winning or learning. For me, losing often to Novak Djokovic has taught me a lot. It's good for you, it wakes you up.
In soccer, you can play against Ronaldo and realize that you need to prepare better next time. But when is the next time? In tennis, we have more opportunities to catch up."
