Six years later, Ostapenko returns to the quarter-finals at Wimbledon!
For the third time in her career, Jelena Ostapenko will play in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon (2017, 2018, 2024). The world no. 14 qualified by putting an authoritative end to world no. 35 Yulia Putintseva's run of 8 consecutive wins, all on grass, including one over Iga Swiatek. Playing her usual high-risk tennis (29 winners, 26 unforced errors), the Latvian won in just over an hour and two sets (6-2, 6-3).
In the quarter-finals, Ostapenko will face the winner of the match between Danielle Collins and Barbora Krejcikova on Court n°1.
