Some things must remain secret": Alcaraz on questions about his private life
Between sporting progression and media pressure, Alcaraz confides that he is learning to set boundaries. A strong statement, in which he explains why certain aspects of his life "must remain sheltered."
Carlos Alcaraz, world No. 1, is present in the semi-finals of the Masters where he will face Félix Auger-Aliassime this evening.
The Spaniard is currently having a perfect week, having confirmed his place at the top of the ATP rankings at the expense of his rival Jannik Sinner, in addition to winning all three of his group stage matches.
A few days ago, after his opening victory against Alex de Minaur, Alcaraz was questioned about his love life during a press conference. A moment he reflected on for the media outlet El Pais:
"My life has been heavily exposed, so I have to deal with it. But it's true that there are many things that must remain in the private sphere, because it's important to know how to distinguish what you can show and what you cannot.
Honestly, I am a very natural person and I share a lot, but there are other aspects that are better kept to oneself in order to feel safe and at peace, even if it's just a small bubble where one can protect oneself.
It's better that not everyone has access to this information, that no one can give their opinion on these subjects. In the end, whether it's positive or negative, everything has an impact.
