Son - Zverev, icy handshake followed by champagne battle
Arthur Fils defied the odds to win the final of the Hamburg ATP 500 tournament against Alexander Zverev on Sunday (6-3, 3-6, 7-6 [1]). A defeat that the German took very badly.
Probably depressed by his missed opportunities (Fils saved 21 break points out of 22), Zverev was very grumpy after the match point and offered an icy handshake to the young Frenchman who had just won the biggest title of his career (see video below).
But the good mood was back a few minutes later, when the trophy presentation ceremony took place. The German copiously drenched his opponent in champagne before making him drink the last drops from the bottle (see video below).
All's well that ends well.
