Stephens takes the title in Rouen!
Sloane Stephens finished the job perfectly this Sunday on the clay courts of Rouen. After defeating local favourite Caroline Garcia in the semi-finals on Saturday (6-3, 6-2), she didn't miss the opportunity to claim her first title of the season. The American defeated Poland's Magda Linette in just over 2 hours and three sets (6-1, 2-6, 6-2).
The former world No.3, who won the US Open in 2017, thus takes the 8th WTA title of her career. She is now 33rd in the world in the WTA rankings to be published on Monday.
