Tuesday was marked by Simona Halep's retirement.
The Romanian, former world number 1, did not have the end of career she had hoped for, marked by a suspension for doping and repeated injuries.
Clearly lacking in competition and rhythm, the former world number 1 was beaten by Lucia Bronzetti (6-1, 6-1) in the first round of the Cluj-Napoca tournament.
After giving a final speech to her own supporters, Halep, 33, also spent a moment of communion with her parents, present for the last tournament of her career.
Her father, Stere Halep, gave Golazo his first impressions of his daughter's retirement.
"The emotions are so strong that they cannot be expressed in words. The time has come for Simona to say goodbye.
Every beginning has an end. We are delighted that she has finished in good health and that all her dreams have come true.
Simona won't be going back on her decision - she can't afford to. It is with great joy that she has decided to retire.
It is also with great happiness that she brings this successful career to a close. Simona is a symbol of Romania and Romanians.
