Swiatek has chosen its new coach!
There's something new in the Iga Swiatek clan.
Following the recent announcement of the end of her collaboration with Tomas Wiktorowski, we now know the identity of her new coach.
The world number 1 has chosen one of the best coaches available, Belgian Wim Fissette.
Taking advantage of the recent end of Naomi Osaka's collaboration with Fissette, Swiatek obviously seized the opportunity.
Explaining her decision on X, she said: "I'm excited and motivated to start a new chapter.
I'm delighted to announce that Wim Fissette is joining our team.
As you know, I'm preparing for the WTA Finals, but my perspective is, as always, long-term, not short-term.
I've said many times that my career is a marathon for me, not a sprint, and that I work, operate and make decisions with this approach.
I want to say that I'm very excited and looking forward to working with Wim. He seems to have an attitude, vision and enormous experience at a very high level of tennis.
It's always crucial to try and get to know each other better, but we're off to a good start."
