Swiatek: "I don't feel qualified to talk about politics"
Iga Swiatek is on her way to winning her third Indian Wells title. During a press conference after her match against Karolina Muchova, she was asked about the political situation in her home country, Poland.
The Polish Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, announced the return of military training in Poland.
Swiatek responded: "Honestly, I don't feel qualified to talk about politics. We live in a very complicated world right now, with a lot of tensions.
I have been vocal about this, people know my point of view. I played for a long time with a ribbon, at the start of the war in Ukraine.
In any case, I am not an expert and I don't like to go deep into these topics. I know that many people watch my press conferences and read what I say.
So I won't speak up, because I don't know enough. But I am aware of everything that is happening."
