Swiatek sends a message: "There's too much hate".

Swiatek sends a message: There's too much hate.

After a rather disappointing second half of the season, Iga Swiatek is the target of much criticism, particularly on social networks.

Beaten soundly by Jessica Pegula in the quarter-finals of the US Open, the world number 1 addressed her detractors: "There's too much hatred and criticism of me and my staff, even when I lose just one set. It's just not right.

I wish people would think more carefully when expressing their opinions on the Internet.

It's sad to see what they write about me and the people around me."
