Toni Nadal on Sinner and Alcaraz: "The rivalry is well and truly underway".
As part of his latest column published by our El Pais confrères, Toni Nadal returned to the nascent and promising rivalry between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
While he makes no secret of his preference for the Spaniard's tennis, the legendary coach was keen to warn Alcaraz off, explaining that the world number 1 had reached a pretty crazy level of play, especially from the baseline: "Sinner is capable of executing each of his shots with great speed and making very few unforced errors.
Beating him from the baseline is almost impossible.
I have to say that I'm enjoying Alcaraz's game more and more, but I admit and fear that Sinner's remarkable progress, particularly on the mental front, is making it really difficult for him.
The rivalry is well and truly on."
