United Cup - Australia beat Great Britain but are eliminated

Australia defeated Great Britain 2-1 in the United Cup. Katie Boulter easily beat Olivia Gadecki 6-2, 6-1 in the first match.

Alex de Minaur then beat Billy Harris 6-2, 6-1.

With the loss in the women's singles, Australia needed to concede just four games or less in the mixed doubles to have any hope of qualifying and making the difference on the ratio of games won.

De Minaur and Gadecki managed to beat Nicholls/Broom, but only by a score of 6-3, 7-6, which did not prevent Australia's elimination.

Great Britain, who qualified from Group F, will face Poland in the quarter-finals.
