Hurkacz dominates Harris, Poland close in on United Cup semi-finals
The third quarter-final of the United Cup 2025 begins. Reigning finalists Poland will attempt to reach the last four of the competition once again.
To do so, they'll have to overcome Great Britain. The first match of the day is the men's singles between Hubert Hurkacz and Billy Harris.
The Pole is the favorite, but watch out for the Briton, who caused problems for Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the group phase.
In a tight match, Hurkacz got his country off to a perfect start on the road to qualification (7-6, 7-5 after a match lasting 1h45).
If Iga Swiatek beats Katie Boulter later on, Poland will be in the semi-finals against Kazakhstan, who qualified yesterday after a trouble-free victory over a Germany without Alexander Zverev, who had to withdraw at the last minute.
On the other hand, should Boulter prevail against the world number 2, it will be the mixed doubles decider that will decide the tie.
As a reminder, it was at the end of this event that Poland booked their place in the knockout phase with two matches against Norway and the Czech Republic.
