Video - Djokovic and Rune Train Together Before Their Shanghai Debut
Four-time Shanghai tournament winner in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2018, Novak Djokovic will compete in his first Masters 1000 since April. Having arrived in the Chinese city in recent hours, the Serbian is already training to fine-tune the final details of his preparation. Tennis TV captured some footage of the former world number one's session.
In recent hours, the 38-year-old player, currently ranked 5th in the ATP, was accompanied by Holger Rune. The Dane, who is ranked 11th, trained with his illustrious senior (see video below).
Lacking confidence lately, he will face Sebastian Baez in the second round (the Dane leads their head-to-head 3-2), while Novak Djokovic will make his debut against an old acquaintance, Marin Cilic. The Serbian leads their direct encounters 19 wins to 2 against the Croatian.
