Video - Shanghai 2010: When Murray Gave a Tennis Lesson to Federer in the Final

In his seventh appearance in a Masters 1000 final, Andy Murray faced Roger Federer in Shanghai. The Brit, already crowned with a title in this category in Toronto a few weeks earlier, was in control throughout the match.
Relying on his defensive skills, the Brit made his rival bend in the exchange, also forcing him to play on his backhand. A tactic that paid off from the first to the last point, Murray winning with a routine score: 6-3, 6-2.
A lesson inflicted on Federer, who regretted "not having made the important shots in the important moments" and conceded his fourth final defeat of the 2010 season after Madrid, Halle, and Toronto.
Murray, for his part, admitted it. He had played "his best tennis" during that week in Shanghai, securing his ticket to the ATP Finals in London in the process.
It was also his eighth victory over Federer in thirteen encounters. Subsequently, the Swiss managed to reverse the trend and would finish with a positive record of 14 wins to 11 against Murray.
