Jannik Sinner won't be taking part in this year's Rolex Paris Masters after all. Sick with a virus, the world No. 1 will not be back in action for his first match on Wednesday.
He explained that his body was not ready to play a competitive match for another two or three days, which would make it too late to compete in the Paris event (see video below).
The Italian is replaced in the final draw by Arthur Cazaux, who was eliminated by Fabio Fognini in the last round of qualifying.
The Frenchman is therefore exempt from the first round and will start his tournament in the second round, as Sinner would have done, against the winner of the match between Corentin Moutet and Ben Shelton.
Was it too late to shuffle the seeds?
