Roddick: "Alcaraz is not a machine like Sinner".
In his podcast Served with Andy Roddick, the American launched his predictions for the 2025 season, running through the profiles of every player in the ATP Top 20.
When discussing Carlos Alcaraz, world No. 3 and winner of Roland Garros and Wimbledon in 2024, Roddick spoke of the differences the Spaniard possesses compared to his main rival Jannik Sinner :
"He's worked on his serve, adjusted his movement, his backhand has become better, he's using the slice more and more....
I think he just needs time and space mentally, I don't think he's a machine like Sinner.
Even the way he plays is more based on his feelings and emotions. He's a performer, he's very theatrical.
He'll stay world No. 3 forever if he wins two Grand Slams every year."
