Frances Tiafoe was trapped this Tuesday.

Up against Roman Safiullin, ranked 61st in the world and Bublik's winner in the previous round, the American was defeated after more than 3 hours of a crazy battle (5-7, 7-5, 7-6).

The most memorable moment of the match, however, was Tiafoe's reaction.

During the tie-break of the final set, the world number 17 was cautioned several times for going over time, losing his first service point at 5-5.

After losing the last two points and thus the match, he totally lost his nerve, directly insulting the referee (see video below).

@L R this comment section suggests otherwise, not particularly much hate. I don’t hate Tiafoe, I think he just let his emotions get the better of him here, he definitely deserves the large fine coming his way though.

I didn't watched the match, so I'm curious "what it's really about"?

People will come down extremely hard on Tiafoe. They will say it’s cuz of his behavior…ONLY!!!! But interestingly when another player does the same thing, the response from people is different. So, yeah let’s keep pretending how most people will respond is not about what it’s really about!!!!!

I can’t tell if you are insinuating racism here? I personally disagree. Until recently Tiafoe was one of the more popular guys on tour, but after his disrespectful comments about lower ranked players, essentially calling them nobodies, his popularity has plummeted. People come down hard on because they don’t like him anymore and unfortunately that’s only Frances’ fault

why did tennis tonic void predictions on the match between Chwalinska and Huergo at the Quito tournament? The match was played to completion and on time. If TT feels the match is one sided, and of course it was, then don't put it up for prediction. This is getting irritating.
