Stan Wawrinka has fought memorable battles against the best players in history in the past.
Despite the almost unchallenged dominance of the Big 3, he was one of the few to have won Grand Slams in this period, and the only one with Murray to have won multiple Major titles at his prime.
In the Nothing Major Podcast, the Swiss champion and former world number 3 was full of praise for Novak Djokovic, an opponent he has faced 27 times (21-6 for the Serb in head-to-head meetings), including twice in a Grand Slam final.
"My favorite opponent is Novak Djokovic. I've always enjoyed playing him. It may sound strange for me to say that, because I've lost to him more than 20 times.
But I've always felt comfortable against him. At the 2014 ATP Finals, I lost 6-3, 6-0 and enjoyed myself. His tennis is so fine and clean.
Even if it destroys you, you cry with joy because you have the perfect tennis player in front of you," assured the three-time Grand Slam winner.
