WTA signs mega-contract with Mercedes-Benz: a new era from 2026
A small revolution is brewing on the WTA side. Starting from the 2026 season, the women's circuit will showcase a new premier main sponsor.
According to information from Hard Court, the WTA is indeed set to conclude a multi-year partnership with Mercedes-Benz, which will succeed Hologic. The American medical brand had signed a contract in 2022 estimated between 18 and 20 million dollars per year.
Ambassador contracts offered to players
This agreement will come with several new features: the Mercedes logo will now appear on the nets of WTA tournaments, vehicles will be made available to players for their travel to event sites, and new ambassador contracts will be introduced, similar to the one signed this Monday by world number 3, Coco Gauff.
Mercedes, a return to tennis
The WTA is also expected to buy out the automotive partnerships of several tournaments currently linked to brands like Porsche (Stuttgart) or Lexus (Birmingham, Nottingham).
For Mercedes, this marks a return to the world of tennis: the German brand had already been the main sponsor of the ATP circuit between 1996 and 2008.
